3 Tips from Henry Thrun

  1. Control the controllables: “The only thing you can control is effort and attitude.”

  2. Stay curious: “Never stop learning.”

  3. Keep it joyful: “Always have fun.”

No one said it’s easy to be the best. No one even said it was easy to be average. The difference is that if you want to play with the best, you have to do one thing. Be consistent.

“The biggest thing I notice about the best players is their consistency. They deliver at the same high level every day – in both preparation and performance. Anyone can have a great day once, but the best players stack great days like it’s second nature.”

Want to Learn

Follow the great athletes. Not just their stats or their highlights or their luxurious instagram posts, but their routines. This is engrained in Henry’s philosophy, “Never Stop Learning.”

“I’m constantly watching what others are doing – if I see something that works for someone else, I’ll try it. I’m always evolving

Henry has seen the best, and for most of his life, been the best.

  1. US National Development Program at 17 years old.

  2. NHL draft pick at 18 years old

  3. NHL player at 22 years old.

But it’s no act of luck. Henry found his routine and stuck with it, but always remained curious. He wanted to learn, to grow, to change his game so that he could be the best that he could possibly be – and now that he’s playing in the best league in the world, that curiosity is only growing. The biggest thing he has learned?... Nutrition has been his “game-changer.”

“I’ve done testing to see which foods my body handles best and worst.
Now, I focus on clean, single-source foods. If it comes in a wrapper or box, I read every ingredient. I try to eat organic whenever possible, and I’ve noticed the difference – more energy, faster recovery.

Don’t get fooled by loud labels and colorful boxes, read the ingredients. If you don’t know an ingredient, DON'T BUY IT!
